NEW ORGANIZATION FORMED TO HELP PRESERVE OUR NATIONAL HERITAGE!
 
The Union Library Civil War Round Table of Hatboro, PA today announced the formation of a not-for-profit organization to be designated the “American Civil War Charitable Trust”. This volunteer organization will distribute funds raised through the sale of commissions and promotions in the fictitious 243rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment and other fund raising initiatives.
 
The American Civil War Charitable Trust ™ will distribute all net proceeds realized to the Union Library Civil War Round Table’s ongoing historic preservation activities, with a portion going to Civil War related associations designated by those seeking commissions in the regiment.  
 
At the present time the Union Library Civil War Round Table is working to identify and restore 32 Civil War Veterans’ graves located in the Horsham Friends Meeting Cemetery in Horsham, PA.
 
Thus far the designated Beneficiaries of the American Civil War Charities Trust ™ include: The Friends of the National Parks at Gettysburg; The Major General George Gordon Meade Scholarship Fund, sponsored by the G.A.R. Museum and Library in Philadelphia; The Friends of Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA; and the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association’s Daniel Lady Farm Preservation Project and many other Civil War related organizations all across the country. 
 
William S. Vosseler of Hatboro, the founder of the Union Library Civil War Round Table, will serve as the organization’s first Executive Director.
